The Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Business Awards have been well-supported, with 104 businesses and organisations nominated across a range of categories.

Chamber president Russell Stewart said the support for the chamber’s long-running initiative was brilliant and thanked the community.

“Many larger cities would be delighted to have that number of nominations,” Mr Stewart said.

“It goes to show the community buy-in for chamber and our business awards.”

Mr Stewart said the chamber received more than 300 nomination forms in hard copy and digital formats, with all categories well-supported.

Interest in the gala awards dinner, being held on Saturday, September 14, continues to grow.

Tickets are now half sold and Mr Stewart has encouraged nominees to secure their spot before the event sells out.

The chamber dinner awards is always a sell-out event.

“We encourage people to get in and get their tickets now,” Mr Stewart said.

As recently reported by The Courier, ticket prices remain the same – $110 for chamber members and $125 for non-members.

Included in the ticket price is a three-course dinner and drinks package.

“Once it sells out, it sells out,” Mr Stewart said.

The chamber is looking forward to welcoming comedian Kat Davidson back to Narrabri, this year as MC for the gala business awards celebration.

Individual theme songs for the winners will again be a feature on the night, a component of the evening that takes a lot of work, however, adds to celebration.

“It’s a lot of work but it adds a lot of fun to the evening,” Mr Stewart said.

The theme songs are selected and curated by the Stewart and Nixon families on behalf of the chamber.

The event is also a continued, long-running supporter of The Crossing Theatre. Mr Stewart estimates chamber and business awards sponsors have invested $650,000 in the facility since the inception of the business awards.

“That’s a significant contribution,” he said.
