West School Fete fun on again after COVID hiatus

The Narrabri West Public School Fete is coming back.

The school community of students, parents, staff and local residents is looking forward to the return of the family fete after the COVID hiatus.

“This will be our first fete since the end of COVID,” said one of the organisers, Jenny Kirk. “The first post-COVID fete will be bigger and better than ever.

COVID caused the cancellation of the 2021, 2022 and 2023 fetes. But the fete goes on – a great tradition of the 140 year old Narrabri West Public School.

“We have a big range of attractions and everyone is excited to be preparing to welcome the community along on Friday night September 13.

“The gates open at 5pm and the fete runs until 8pm.”

Fete visitors will have plenty to choose from, see, ride on, buy from and goodies to eat and drink.

“We will have the popular standard attractions – cake stalls, a jumping castle, a jumping castle maze, a blow up ‘dart board’ where people can test their ball kicking skills, face painting and much more.

“There will be plenty of food – Lions and Rotary will be cooking up barbecues and hot dogs.”

A feature this year will be the ‘bottle stalls’ Jenny said.

“Pupils have been busy filling bottles and jars with lollies, chocolates and treats – we have hundreds – which will be available on the night.”
