Boggabri Pony Club members have lowered the flag and sounded the last post on another very successful pony camp.
Forty-one riders and their supporters camped out and competed at the Boggabri Showground for the week in near-perfect weather conditions from Sunday, September 29 to Saturday, October 5.
Riders practised bareback riding, dressage, show jumping, polocrosse, sporting events such a barrels, flags, key hole, bends, watched a movie one night, participated in the skits evening, leant how to look after their horse and, above all, had fun at the annual event.
At the completion of the gymkhana on Saturday afternoon, camp commandant Mark Smith congratulated the riders, troop leaders, instructors and judges and said that it had been a successful camp and how pleasing it was to see the improvement in some of the riders in just a week.
The Prior Shield for grand champion rider of the 2024 camp was awarded to Alice Norton.
