Boggabri Lions Club members welcomed and inducted five new members into their club at its recent meeting.
Boggabri president, Craig Devine also welcomed Lion Joe Pope second vice-district governor of District 201NI from Bellingen and Lion Sandra Armstrong from Quirindi who holds the position of first vice-president of Zone 11.
Lion Craig said he was excited to welcome new members and there are another three people who will be inducted into the club later, bringing their membership to 24.
Lion Sandra introduced Lion Joe Pope saying his interest in Lions began when he was a charter member of Urunga where he has held many positions.
Joe then moved to Bellingen Lions Club to broaden his understanding and became the Zone Chair for the area.
Continuing this journey has led Joe to be second vice-district governor working along side the district governor to work as a team and enjoy and bring what Lions can bring to the community.
Ruby Smith, Megan Guest, Lenise Walker, Margaret Ryan and Joanne Tailby were then inducted into Lions International by Lion Joe Pope.
Lion Joe complimented the Boggabri Lions on the wonderful set up they have with the barbecue trailer, van and cool room.
He said he was also impressed with the tractor shed, many of which he had experience with as a youngster.
He also reminded the club of the Lions first aid booklet, service booklet and the district governor’s 2024 project, the ‘Joey Jumper’.
