Australia Day will be celebrated in the shire with events across the district on Sunday.
This year, Narrabri will welcome NSW 2023 Local Hero nominee Christine Mastello as the Australia Day ambassador. Ms Mastello will attend celebrations in Narrabri and Boggabri.
In Narrabri, the presentation of Australia Day awards and an Australian citizenship ceremony will take place at The Crossing Theatre from 10.30am. A family fun day will be held at the Narrabri Aquatic Centre from 12pm.
A breakfast will be held at Sacred Heart Primary School Boggabri, with breakfast from 7am and an Australia Day celebration from 8am. A barbecue lunch and family fun activities will take place at Boggabri Memorial Swimming Pool from 12pm.
In Wee Waa, a breakfast will be held at the Namoi Echo Museum from 7am, with the Australia Day celebration from 8am.
Maules Creek will hold a celebration from 11am.
As in previous years, all shire pools will offer free entry on the day.
