You may have noticed fewer bananas in supermarkets, which is due to the recent Queensland flooding. About 94 per cent of bananas come from Queensland. Many growers have had damage to their farms from the floodwater and transportation is also a problem. The price of bananas will also increase, while there is a shortage, until growers can get back to full production.
