Narrabri Bowling Club’s 2025/26 campaign got underway last week, with ladies’ veteran singles matches contested on Thursday and men’s club singles action held on Saturday.

Dawn Armstrong, Helen Woodward and Kay Carolan were winners on Thursday to advance to the next round.

Dawn defeated Marie Redman 25-12, Helen outscored Ronnie Dewar 25-19, and Kay beat Rhonda Fitzgerald 25-12.

Social bowls was also played on Thursday, with two pairs matches and a triples game contested.

Doug Mackereth and Terry Wilson defeated Glennis Godden and Cindy Neil 19-11, Dee Fletcher and Stuart Coleman beat Cecile and Clive Ball 19-12, and Heather Caton, Gloria Campey and Tony Redman outscored Trish Allison, Berice Eather and Rob Pownall 17-11.

The men’s club singles winners on Saturday were Steve Daskey, Len Ryan, Scott Dewar and Keith Stoltenberg.

Steve defeated Bill Rosewarn 26-21 in a game that was played across 30 ends, while Len beat Graham Rose 26-14, Scott outscored his brother Dave Dewar 25-16, and Keith took down David Field 25-7.

The 2025/26 season will continue this week, with ladies’ veteran singles matches to be played today and men’s club singles games to be held on Saturday.

The ladies’ veteran singles matches scheduled for Thursday, July 10, are as follows:
Dawn Armstrong v Eva Sadler (marker – Marie Redman), Helen Woodward v Lyn Tuckey (marker – Rhonda Fitzgerald), Kay Carolan v Janet Coleman (marker – Ronnie Dewar), Di Chessells v Glennis Godden (marker – Cecile).

The men’s club singles games scheduled for Saturday, July 12, are as follows:
9.30am – Scott Dewar v Stuart Coleman (marker – Dave Dewar), Col Armstrong v Steve Daskey (marker – Bill Rosewarn).
1.30pm – Winner of Baguley/Scott (being played Friday, July 11) v Keith Stoltenberg (marker – loser of Baguley/Scott game).
