Four teenagers arrested after aggravated break and enter

Four teenagers have been arrested following an aggravated break and enter at a home in Moree.

Police were called to a home on Boston Street, Moree, about 5:30am on Monday, July 7, after four people – one allegedly armed with a box cutter – forced their way inside.

An 83-year-old woman, who was the only occupant in the house, was threatened and knocked to the ground.

The four people then ran from the house.

Officers attached to New England Police District and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene.

The woman was treated by paramedics and taken to hospital for further treatment.

She was later released with minor injuries.

Following inquiries by police, four teenagers, ranging in age from 12-years-old to 14-years-old, were arrested and taken to Moree Police Station.

A 12-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy have been dealt with under the Young Offender’s Act.

A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy will be charged with breach of bail and aggravated break and enter offences.

Woman charged over alleged break and enter in Mendooran

A woman will face court over an alleged break and enter in the state’s west last year.

In January 2025, officers attached to Rural Crime Prevention Team (RCPT) and Orana Mid-Western Police District established Strike Force Compartment to investigate break and enter offences in the Orana Mid-Western area in December 2024.

In December 2024, a rural property on Castlereagh Highway, Mendooran, was subject of a break, enter and steal. Among the items stolen were 13 firearms.

Police have charged two men – aged 29 and 31 – in Mendooran and Dubbo areas since they commenced the investigation.

Following further inquiries, about 11.10am on Monday, July 7, strike force detectives arrested a 20-year-old woman on Boothenba Road, Dubbo.

She was taken to Dubbo Police Station where she was charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal less than or equal to $60,000.

She was granted conditional bail to appear at Mudgee Local Court on Wednesday, July 30.
