Prior to their July meeting, members of Boggabri United Hospital Auxiliary held a ‘Soup and Damper Lunch’.
Residents were invited to purchase a $10 container of homemade soup, plus a piece of damper to help raise funds for the Boggabri United Hospital Auxiliary.
The auxiliary purchases equipment and supplies for the Boggabri Hospital and health facility.
Boggabri Public School staff placed their orders early so as not to miss out and provided wonderful feedback.
One young couple purchased their soup, went home, enjoyed it so much came back and purchased another two cups.
Two ladies wanted to know if it could be available each week and one gentleman told The Courier that he didn’t have breakfast in anticipation of coming to the lunch. Apparently, it did not disappoint as he was heard asking “what are the chances of seconds.”
The ‘potato and leek’ and ‘chicken and vegetable’ sold out quickly and only a small amount of pumpkin soup was left over. It was a very successful day raising more than $600 dollars.
