The wait is finally over, and the cinema seats are waiting for your company. The Crossing Theatre has officially reopened as of Monday, August 11 and to celebrate, Narrabri Shire Council brought a collective media opportunity to the venue.
Narrabri Shire Council deputy mayor, Cr Brett Dickinson, opened the discussion with thanks to the community for their patience and support during this waiting period.
“It is certainly a very exciting sight to see our Crossing Theatre open the doors to continue supplying the community with entertainment and connection,” Cr Dickinson said.
“We really apologized for the time it took in reopening the building and bringing back the movie culture in Narrabri.
“We have our CREATE festival, our NARRABRIGHT, which are fantastic events in showcasing what the Crossing Theatre has to offer as a venue in our shire.
“As well as this, The Crossing Theatre host various business meetings, expos, and exhibitions in supporting local businesses, schools and groups or clubs.
“The most important thing is that the space is safe and with the technical issues The Crossing Theatre were faced with.”
To excite the public, event coordinator for The Crossing Theatre, Ashley Kneale, spoke more about what is coming up in the movie universe.
“We’ve got some really good movies coming out this year so I think everyone will be keen in coming back.
“We have Lilo and Stitch on the screen and some other kids’ movies that will be rolling out so we know there is a lot of kids busting to see all the movies they’ve missed over the last couple of months.
“It is definitely a huge community hub, with all different types of events hosted here, as well as our café with some new menu items, and of course our two big screen cinemas.
“We anticipate being pretty busy, especially on the weekend, and looking forward to seeing locals walk through those doors.”
