Narrabri and District Junior Rugby League’s under-16s team are through to North West Group 4 Junior Rugby League’s grand final day following a dominant major semi-final win over North Tamworth on Saturday.
The junior Blues were the minor premiers of the division two competition and will now get a chance to play for the plate at Scully Park on Saturday, September 20.
They will meet either Norths or Dungowan Gold in the final after the Cowboys took down Boggabri Kangaroos 34-12 in the minor semi-final on Saturday.
Narrabri welcomed Norths to Collins Park for the grand final qualifier and prevailed 42-10 after leading 22-0 at half-time.
Jarrad Lawler bagged an early double before Lucas Duff and Hunter Doring also chipped in with tries before the break, and Frazer Penberthy kicked three of the four conversions.
Penberthy, Gabe O’Connor, Mason Humphries and Chayce Browning all scored second-half tries and Penberthy kicked two of the goals.
The hosts limited the visitors to two tries.
Coach Lee Browning told The Courier he was impressed with their performance and backed them to get the job done in the grand final.
