I would like to share a very positive story about Moree.
On September 26-27, a running carnival was held over two days in Moree.
I have family in Moree who competed and by all accounts it was a highly successful competition.
Just under 800 competitors were registered coming from all parts of the country.
Competitors came from the Gold Coast and Victoria as well as other towns in between.
The runners’ ages were from those very young to those over 80 years.
The Friday night was a special event where the whole town came together and enjoyed celebrations.
All people of the district and beyond were included and the event was a memorable and happy one for all those who attended.
It was a great family weekend.
I’m optimistic and have faith this type of happening continues and helps to restore the negativity that sometimes persists in our towns and in fact this world we are living in.
