Narrabri Netball Association’s twilight mixed netball has gone to a whole new level in 2025, smashing last year’s registration numbers by more than 100.
NNA president Nikki Connole advised that this season has attracted 410 players across all levels, which includes open social, open competitive, high school-aged, primary school-aged and the walking netball. That is up from 299 players in 2025.
There are six teams in the open competitive division, 15 more in the open social, six high school-aged teams, 11 primary school-aged teams and there are 19 players registered for the walking netball so far.
The new twilight campaign ran for two weeks prior to the school holiday break and it will resume next week on Thursday, October 16.
It will run through to Thursday, December 4, and the open competitive division grand final will be held as a standalone event on Thursday, December 11.
Connole told The Courier that it was already an enjoyable season, and both the committee and the players are eager to get back into it following the school holiday break.
“The numbers are unbelievable. There are over 400 people registered. It’s pretty crazy,” Connole said.
“We’re over the moon. We’re stoked.
“Lots of prep has gone into it, and Lauren’s socials really helped too. She’s really pushed that.
“Everyone who played in last year’s comp was really impressed. They have come back and it’s bigger and better.
“There were lots of people last year that asked for a competitive comp, so we’ve brought that in and got six teams.
“It’s been a brilliant atmosphere so far. It’s just so fun and energetic.
“Walking netball started in week two and it’s been a lot of fun. There are no teams there, you just come along and grab a bib and join in.”
Connole advised that anyone keen to play the last eight to nine weeks of the season should get in touch with the NNA committee, and from there, they can be put into a team.
Anyone can sign up to play walking netball at any stage of the season.
