Locals and visitors can now enjoy improved access and connectivity to Yarrie Lake after the completion of upgrades to Lake Circuit Road.

The significant upgrade included the complete reconstruction and sealing of 6.4km of what was previously a gravel road.

The construction included pavement strengthening, road widening for heavy vehicle use and dual passage, drainage improvements and minor level modifications. The project was made possible through a $4,495,000 grant from the NSW government’s Resources for Regions program.

Narrabri Shire mayor Darrell Tiemens welcomed the completion of the road, which will benefit the entire community.

“Yarrie Lake is a popular spot for locals and visitors, so this road is a crucial connection for access to the lake and encouraging further tourism growth within our region,” Cr Tiemens said.

“The completion of the road upgrade is particularly welcome as we head into the warmer months – the perfect time to get out and enjoy this beautiful spot.

“We’re looking forward to seeing families, visitors and the community overall making the most of this popular spot.”
