Narrabri locals are invited to drop in to the Tourist Hotel on Tuesday, December 2 between 4-7pm to hear the latest updates on the proposed Stoney Creek Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
Representatives of the project team will be available to discuss the outcomes of detailed assessments completed through the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), which has been submitted to the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) for review.
Local feedback has been critical in shaping the project so far, and this drop-in event is another opportunity for community members to raise any concerns, share ideas on how the project can deliver long-term community benefits for Narrabri, and give feedback on how locals would like to be consulted as the project progresses.
No registration is necessary.
Battery Energy Storage Systems help store excess generated energy and dispatch it to the grid when it’s most needed, improving stability and reliability across the region.
The Stoney Creek BESS is a 125 MW/1000 MWh utility-scale battery proposed for development on Stoney Creek Road, directly opposite the Narrabri substation.
The project, being jointly developed by Enervest and Energy Vault, is progressing through the NSW State Significant Development assessment process, which considers social and environmental impacts, community consultation and local benefits, and is currently on public exhibition.
If you can’t make it on December 2, but would like to learn more about the Stoney Creek BESS project or register as a local supplier, you can contact the project team by phone, email, or by registering your details at enervest.com.au/project/stoney-creek-bess.
