Narrabri Shire Council continues to conduct PFAS testing on the Narrabri Town Water Supply.

The latest testing results of the Namoi Reservoir have shown PFAS levels as below current guidelines.

This means that the Narrabri Town Water Supply continues to be safe for consumption.

In the most recent results, PFHxS, PFOA and PFBS were not detected. PFOS returned a reading of 2ng/l, well below the national guideline of 8ng/l.

The Tibbereena Street bore continues to supplement water supplied from the Elizabeth Street bore (the latest testing of the Elizabeth Street bore showed no detection of PFAS).

The Killarney bore remains switched off after testing in early July showed Namoi Reservoir levels slightly above current guidelines.

Testing results can also be found on council’s website.

NSW Health continues to recommend private bore owners consider testing their groundwater.
