Three teenagers have been charged after allegedly entering a residential property with intent to commit an indictable offence in Moree.
About 12.45am on Friday, December 5, officers attached to New England Police District were called to a home on Boston Street, following reports of youths being on their property.
Police arrived and were told a group of youths had allegedly attempted to enter the residence through a side door before fleeing the scene.
A woman in her 30s was inside the home at the time, however, was uninjured during the incident.
Following inquiries, shortly after, police located a 15-year-old boy allegedly hiding in a backyard on Calgorm Street, Moree.
He was arrested and taken to Moree Police Station where he was charged with enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence, enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and breach of bail.
The teenager faced a children’s court on Friday, December 5, where he was formally refused bail to face a children’s court on Thursday, December 18.
Following further inquiries, shortly after, police – with assistance from the Dog Unit – located a further two boys – aged 14 and 15 – in a hedge at a residence on Boston Street, Moree.
The teenagers were arrested and taken to Moree Police Station where the 14-year-old was charged with enter enclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence, and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to face a children’s court on Friday, December 5, where he was granted conditional bail to face a children’s court on Thursday, January 22.
The 15-year-old was charged with enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence, enter enclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and breach of bail, and was refused bail to face a children’s court on Friday, December 5, where he was granted conditional bail to face a children’s court on Thursday, January 22.
