The ninth round of Narrabri District Cricket Association’s 2025/26 season first grade one day competition was washed out following an abundance of rain on Friday.

Saturday’s match at Jubilee Oval between the Boggabri Colts and the ladder-leading Wilga Hotel Razorbacks was called off first, with a decision made on Friday night.

The NDCA attempted to move that match to Narrabri on Saturday, but all three venues were too wet to play on, which meant the match at Leitch Oval between RSL and Tatts was also abandoned.

Both fixtures were declared draws and the four teams all received four points each.

Tourist Hotel had the round nine bye, and for the second time received no points when all other teams picked up four, seeing them drop further behind the pack in last place.

The Razorbacks are leading the way with 40 points following four wins, two byes and three washed-out draws across the first nine rounds.

RSL are second on 34 points following three wins, a loss, two byes, and three washed-out draws, and Tatts are third with 29 points following two wins, three losses, a bye and three washed-out draws.

Boggabri Colts are sitting just outside the finals placings with 25 points following two wins, two byes, two washed-out draws and three losses, and then Tourist Hotel are nine behind them on 16 following a win, two byes, one washed-out draw and five losses.

The one day season will now break for the Christmas and New Year holiday and the T20 campaign.

Round 10 of the 40-over competition will be held on Saturday, January 31, when RSL take on Boggabri Colts at Leitch Oval and Tourist Hotel and Wilga Hotel Razorbacks go head-to-head at Collins Park.

The T20 competition returns with a bang from tomorrow, with rounds two and three to be contested across Friday and Saturday.

Tomorrow night’s games will see RSL and Tatts meet at Collins Park while Wilga Hoel and Tourist Hotel face off at Collins Park. Saturday night’s matches will see Boggabri Colts host RSL at Jubilee Oval while Tourist Hotel and Tatts meet at Leitch Oval.

The season will then break for the holidays before rounds four and five are played on Friday and Saturday, January 9 and 10.

The grand final contest between the teams that finish ranked first and second on the ladder will be held on Saturday, January 17.

The ladder currently has RSL, Wilga Hotel, Tourist Hotel and Boggabri Colts locked on four points each after the round one games back in October were abandoned during the second innings due to rain and lightning.

Tatts had the bye in that first round and are on zero points with four matches to play.
