Burren Junction Volunteer Rescue Association said crews responded to a grain train derailment just outside Burren last week.

“Teams worked quickly to secure the site, assess hazards, and support rail authorities in managing the situation,” said Burren’s VRA captain Stephen Gardiner.

Captain Gardiner said rail authorities were working through the recovery process. And it’s not yet known what caused the incident.

“Importantly, there have been no serious injuries reported,” he said.

“A huge thank you to our dedicated volunteers for their professionalism and teamwork.

“Their swift response highlights the strength of our local emergency services and the resilience of our community.”
