The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked to Narrabri Hospital twice in almost a week.

On Thursday, January 8, the service conducted an inter-hospital transfer from the Narrabri Hospital to the Port Macquarie Base Hospital. A woman aged in her 70s, suffering a serious respiratory condition, was stabilised by hospital staff and the NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic and a NSW Health doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team, before being airlifted to Port Macquarie.

On January 13, a man aged in his 30s, suffering a serious medical condition, was stabilised by the critical care paramedic and a doctor from the helicopter’s critical care medical team before being airlifted to Newcastle.
