A Victorian retiree won the entire $80 million jackpot in last week’s Powerball. The official from The Lott tried to contact the winner after the draw, but the calls went straight to voicemail, except his phone’s message bank was full and wouldn’t take any more. When he finally answered his phone, he was sceptical of his good fortune, until he checked his ticket himself online and was left stunned. When asked how he planned to enjoy his multi-million dollar win, he said he’d planned to get away and enjoy some ‘peace and quiet’. “I haven’t been to Italy since I’ve been 10-years-old, and I have wanted to go back ever since,” he said. He is now the state’s biggest lottery winner ever.
