Seven people have been charged following a three-day high-visibility surge operation focused on preventing and disrupting crime.
In conjunction with the high-visibility surge operation, police attached to Soteria and Youth Command conducted bail compliance and home engagement visits on known Soteria youth and youth command continued with positive engagements with known Soteria youth and their families.
From Thursday, February 5, to Saturday, February 7, general duties police from New England Police District were assisted by specialist officers from the Operations Support Group (OSG), Youth Command, Traffic and Highway Patrol and the Dog Unit Western Region, to target and reduce crime in the Moree area.
Across the operation, officers conducted 50 bail compliance and apprehended domestic violence checks.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Command performed 167 random breath tests, 45 random drug tests and issued 16 traffic infringement notices.
Youth Command officers also engaged with over 30 young people within the community and through home visits.

On Friday, February 6, a 43-year-old man – wanted for three outstanding warrants – was arrested on Frome Street.
He was charged with 21 offences, including breach of bail, custody of knife in public place, assault police officer in execution of duty cause actual bodily harm, and goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (not motor vehicle).
He was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 5 on Saturday, February 7.
On Saturday, February 7, police were called to a home on Frome Street after reports of a domestic violence assault.
A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged with intentionally choke person without consent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm (domestic violence), and destroy or damage property.
He was refused bail and appeared at Bail Division Court 5 on the same day.
On Saturday, February 7, officers attached to Traffic and Highway patrol stopped a vehicle on Edward Street for the purpose of a random breath test.
The driver, a 24-year-old woman, allegedly produced an expired drivers licence before returning a positive result for methylamphetamine.
During a search of the vehicle, police allegedly located prohibited drugs.
She was charged with licence expired more than two years, and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
She was refused bail and appeared before the Bail Division Court 5 on the same day.
