Her Excellency the Honourable Margaret Beazley AC KC, Governor of New South Wales, and Mr Dennis Wilson will be visiting Moree and surrounds from Thursday, March 19 to Saturday, March 21, 2026.
In a statement, the Governor said: “Dennis and I are looking forward to visiting Moree and surrounds in the coming days, where we will meet locals, soak up the culture and natural beauty, and learn about the region’s community connections and support services, as well local agribusiness and infrastructure initiatives and aspirations.”
In Moree, the Governor and Mr Wilson will meet Moree Plains Council representatives to hear about local activities and projects, enjoy morning tea with Dhiiyaan Elders at the Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre, and tour Moree Secondary College, where they will meet students and staff and learn about the Connected Communities Strategy. They will also visit Byamee Proclaimed Place Support Services, tour Vitonga Farms’ Beela Farm, and attend a Young Aggies Moree Garden Reception, where they will meet enterprising young professionals in local agribusiness.
In Boggabilla, the Vice Regal Couple will visit the Gomoroi Men’s Shed and have morning tea with students and staff at Toomelah Public School.
Back in Moree, they will meet local branch members of the Isolated Children’s Parents’ Association NSW at Café Gali, view exhibitions at Yaama Ganu Gallery, and hear about progress on the Moree Special Activation Precinct. They will also visit PCYC Moree to learn about the U-Nites youth program, which seeks to foster positive behaviour through after-hours sporting, cultural, and educational activities.
The Governor and Mr Wilson will conclude their time in Moree with a visit to Chalky’s Boxing Gym, where they will meet gym volunteers and watch community fitness and boxing sessions.
