Congratulations to the CEF Namoi for a fabulous fundraising night on Friday. All the speakers were excellent and very thought-provoking, and all for a good cause – helping our young people to further their education.

Hayley on piano was wonderful; Mackenzie Jones gave a great speech about the importance of receiving a scholarship and what it means to have community support. Cara Stoltenberg as chair of CEFN gave a terrific speech about the background of the Education Foundation and where the funds are spent. Wanda Dunnet gave an excellent speech about the importance of community and a free press, and the key-note speaker Peter Greste gave a very informative and insightful presentation about his time as a foreign correspondent and his time in an Egyptian jail on fake charges. Very inspiring. We are all the better for having been fortunate to hear these speakers. How lucky are we to have this in Narrabri?

The CEFN committee are to be congratulated for their efforts to organise events like this to benefit people in the community.
