Passenger rail services will be impacted by the closure of the Hunter Valley line for essential track works.
The Australian Rail Track Corporation will carry out essential maintenance and improvement works across the Hunter Valley network next week to maintain safety and reliability.
The works will take place between Warabrook/Kooragang to Muswellbrook from 6:30am on Monday, March 30 to 6:30am on Wednesday, April 1, and Muswellbrook to Ulan and Muswellbrook to Turrawan from 6:30am on Monday, March 30 to 6:30am on Thursday, April 2.
The shutdown is part of ARTC’s annual maintenance program and is a significant investment in the network.
Crews will focus on critical maintenance and defect removal including track geometry repairs, track component replacements, and other scheduled maintenance.
Additional activities will include culvert replacement, rerailing, drainage, level crossing repairs, bridge repairs and track reconditioning.
Coaches will replace NSW TrainLink services during the trackwork period.
