Gail Russell is the friendly face who criss-crosses town, and up and down the highway, delivering Watson’s Kitchen’s delicious products to outlets and organisations.
Gail has reached the milestone of 30 years with the bakery, originally starting with the Miller family and continuing now with the bakery under the ownership of Michael and Merredith Jackson.
She initially started doing deliveries to Moree and would also fill in for other staff members.
Gail continues with her delivery role today, starting in the dark early hours of the morning to get ready to deliver products to petrol stations, nursing homes, organisations like the hospital auxiliary kiosk and more.
When The Courier caught up with Gail this week, she was loading up the bakery van ready to distribute products in Boggabri.
Being part of the delivery component at Watson’s Kitchen for so long has meant Gail has developed a strong rapport with the outlets she visits.
“They are really good to work with,” Gail said of the businesses and organisations she delivers to. She was also complimentary about her role and the team at the bakery.
“I like the atmosphere. Everyone gets along well,” she said.
“I’ve known some of the team for years.”
