The 2026 Narrabri Show has been declared a success after being held in sunny conditions across the weekend.
Show society president Wendy McNair said they were “over the moon” with the results.
“It was just marvellous to see so many volunteers, helpers and exhibitors … because that’s what makes us a success,” she said.
The show society initially held concerns that the fuel crisis could impact the show, however, Mrs McNair is relieved that wasn’t the case.
“We can’t believe the crowd that supported us across the two days and then the third day with all of the horse competitors,” she said.
“They travel hundreds of kilometres, some of those competitors and their horses.”
The show was officially opened by Dr Karen Kirkby in the rodeo arena on the Friday night with the Young Woman competition announcement taking place on the Saturday evening.
Beth Faris was named senior winner with runner-up Georgia Hardman.
In the junior competition, Adison Hartog-Smith was the winner while Ava Smith was named as runner-up.
Sav Hunt was celebrated as this year’s Rural Achiever.
The entertainment offering was again expansive and culminated in the spectacular Santos fireworks display on Saturday night.
