THE Wandering Art Collective recently pulled into Wee Waa’s Yellow Door to unveil its latest exhibition called Roadtrip, which is on display until 22 August.
The Yellow Door, officially known as the Wee Waa Community Arts and Cultural Centre (WWCACC), welcomed seven of the exhibition’s 12 artists from across the North West region, who have reimagined discarded car parts in their own unique styles to create a vibrant and surprising display.
Old car doors, hubcaps and road signs have never looked so good, with artists turning car parts that some might have once considered trash into treasure, and really impressive artworks.
Each piece is original and beautiful, from metal work to mosaics. Artworks in the exhibition were created using recycled car parts, embracing the idea of ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’.
The Wandering Art Collective is a group of regional women who share a passion for creativity, collaboration and community.
And the Roadtrip exhibition celebrates the adventures, stories and journeys of women throughout their lives.
WWCACC coordinator Lisa Almagro said it was a fun night, thanking the talented artists for making the journey and guests for braving the cold to be part of the opening.
