Blue Boarscelebrate with awards presentation

Narrabri Rugby Club has marked the end of the 2026 season with its annual presentation night.

A black-tie celebration was held at the Tourist Hotel with the Blue Boars gathering to acknowledge individual, team and club success.

L-R: Highest point-scorer for the Blue Boars men was presented to Charlie Radford by Michael Cain. Club highest point-scorer was presented to Toni Rae by Morgan Jones and Michael Cain. Rae also was awarded highest point-scorer for the Blue Boars women. The Jim Meppem Memorial shield was awarded to Jack Smith by club president Daniel Kahl.

The Blue Boars had a successful year, claiming its first reserve grade title in almost 10 years with an emphatic win against Moree.

Club highest point scorer was presented to Toni Rae by Morgan Jones and Michael Cain. Rae also was awarded highest point scorer for the Blue Boars women.

The women’s 10s team claimed the minor premiership, however lost to Tamworth Pirates in a nail-biting grand final.

The Jim Meppem Memorial shield was awarded to Jack Smith by club president Daniel Kahl.

First grade also played finals football this year and finished the preliminary season in third place on 70 points, just behind second-placed Quirindi on 71 points and Moree on 72 points.

The first grade men’s premiership hopes were dashed when they travelled to play against Moree in the preliminary final and were defeated 44–35.
