Through readings, discussion, writing exercises and creative prompts, you’ll discover how place can become more than a backdrop, helping to create mood, build tension, deepen meaning and shape character journeys.
The masterclass is suitable for writers of all experience levels, whether you’re an experienced writer or just beginning.
Sally Piper is an award-winning Australian author whose novels include Grace’s Table, The Geography of Friendship, Bone Memories and her latest release, People Like Us. A former nurse and nurse educator, Sally holds a Master of Arts (Research) in Creative Writing and is an active member of Queensland’s writing community, where she presents workshops, mentors writers, and appears at literary events across Australia.
Sally’s latest book, People Like Us, follows Tina Lamb, a woman starting over after a difficult divorce leaves her living in a caravan park and facing an uncertain future. When she begins caring for a wealthy elderly woman, an unlikely friendship develops, revealing the true meaning of security, belonging and connection. Topical and uplifting, the novel celebrates resilience, female friendship, and the possibility of new beginnings.
