The Narrabri Stingrays Swimming Club was at its brilliant best over the Australia Day weekend.
Seven competitors travelled to Woy Woy for the Country Regional Meet and all seven smashed personal bests across the board.
Two swimmers, Millie and Pip Collins, secured country qualifying times at the event.
Stingrays head coach Fiona Connell said she was impressed by how well the team did.
“We were really, really excited,” said Connell.
“We got two new country times and a lot of PBs.
“All of our swimmers got a PB.
“The big thing is the mindset going into it.
“We only had a small team going down but the swimmers who went down went down there to chase times.”
Connell said it was a great venue for racing.
“The facilities down at Woy Woy presents itself so that kids can race fast,” she said.
“It was indoors so they didn’t have to deal with wind or rain or anything like that.
“You still have to deal with heat but you don’t have to deal with the problems that an outdoor pool creates.
“It was just a really great atmosphere for racing fast.”
The Stingrays’ next event will be held at Gunnedah next weekend for the Speedo sprint heats and area championships.
The Gunnedah Speedo sprint allows the top four swimmers of each age group to advance to the Speedo finals in Sydney.
“We’re looking forward to it because it’s another chance for them to race,” said Connell.
“The more they race the more experience and practice they get.
“So that’s really exciting.”
