The Narrabri Sporties’ Zone Three Bowls Grade Three Pennant team scored a dominant victory on Saturday on its home green.

In a round three clash Narrabri downed Inverell 67 shots to 47 on the master score board and won two of the three rinks on the day to earn nine points to Inverell’s one.

The Narrabri team of Sam Pryor, Paul Crutcher, Dave Dewar and Bob Ireland defeated its opposition 27 shots to 8 in the biggest victory of the day.

In that game it won 14 ends to Inverell’s seven.

Narrabri’s other winning team in that match was Cameron Yates, Norm Walford, Kevin Baguley and Larry Scott who downed their 28 shots to 15 after winning 13 of the 21 ends.

Narrabri’s other team included Trinity Kelly, Paul Hulbert, Preston Clark and Kevin Hulbert who went down 24 shots to 12 against their opposition.

Narrabri is now leading its three team section ladder on 11 points, just one point ahead of second-placed Inverell (10 points) and two clear of third-placed Gunnedah (nine points).

After three rounds all three sides have claimed one win.

In round one Narrabri had the bye and Inverell defeated Gunnedah nine points to one.

In round two Gunnedah hosted Narrabri and was victorious eight points to two.

Narrabri will lose its lead at the top of the table in round four on Saturday, March 21, as it has the bye on a day when Inverell will host Gunnedah.

However, Narrabri can reclaim top spot the following day if it defeats Gunnedah in round five in a game which will be played at the Narrabri Sporties.

Narrabri’s last game will be played away from home in Inverell on Saturday, March 28.

There were also a Grade Six game played at the Narrabri Sporties on Saturday.

Narrabri Sporties grade Six team downed by Moree

The Narrabri Sporties’ Zone Three Bowls Grade Six Pennant team was defeated on Saturday on its home green.

In a round three clash Narrabri was defeated 61 shots to 54 on the master score board by Moree despite the home side claiming 34 ends to 29 on the day.

Narrabri won one of the three rinks in that match to earn one point, with Moee returning home with nine.

Narrabri’s team of Scott Dewar, Justin Green, Sean Anderson and Bob Cantrill won its rink 28 shots to 12 against its Moree opponents.

Len Ryan, Steve Daskey, Stuart Coleman and Ian Macmillan won 11 of the 21 ends in their match but suffered a 25 shots to 12 loss.

Graham Rose, Tony Redman, David Briggs and Rob Wolters were outscored 24 shots to 14 in their match.

Narrabri’s next three games are all away matches, against Collarenabri on March 21, Gunnedah on March 22 and Moree on March28.

The Narrabri men are ranked third but can still win their section.
