Narrabri’s Molly Michell-Smith recently travelled to Taumarunui, New Zealand, where she played for NSW against the New Zealand Juniors in a test series at the New Zealnd Polocrosse Sponsors’ Tournament on Saturday and Sunday, March 7 and 8.
Molly, the daughter of Deb Michell-Smith and Joe Smith, was selected to be part of the NSW junior development polocrosse team which played three games over two days on pool horses.
After fighting their way back in the last game the team ended up runners-up to NZ Juniors.
16-year-old Molly, a Year 11 student at New England Girls’ School, said that it was a great weekend of polocrosse and she enjoyed forging new friendships.
The NSW players now look forward to welcoming the New Zealand team to the Narrabri Polocrosse Club’s annual carnival in July.
