More than 160 attendees gathered on Saturday at the RSL Club at what was possibly a once in a lifetime reunion of St Francis Xavier’s former students, teachers and friends.
The event was organised by Ann Terbutt (nee Brien) with the help of her sister Sheryl Barnes and Ellen Gleeson.
Kevin Barry was MC.
Myra Smith, aged 93, was the oldest ex-student and made a heartfelt speech which was a hit with the audience.
Many travelled for the occasion and joined with locals to renew friendships and reminisce. Class groups mainly from the 1950s and 60s were well represented.
All agreed it was a wonderful get together and praised the organisers.
More to come.
