The Narrabri Shire community has been invited to join a ‘silent salute’ at 11am to commemorate Anzac Day at home on Saturday.

In keeping with the Department of Veterans Affairs advice, Narrabri Shire residents are encouraged to observe private commemorations by standing in front of their homes, at their farm gates and at the end of their driveways with their hand held Australian flags during the 11am minute’s silence, tuning in to Narrabri community radio 2MAX FM for the Ode and last Post.

Tuesday’s Courier included a miniature ‘hand waver flag’ – more are available at The Courier office.

Anzac Day will begin with a 5.30am service broadcast from the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, followed by a NSW service at 10am at the Anzac Memorial, Hyde Park and the Martin Place Cenotaph.
