Competition golf was contested at the Narrabri Golf Course on Saturday for the first time since March as community sport continues to make its way out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Narrabri Golf Club hosted an ambrose event which was contested by 58 golfers.
It was won by Steve Parish who finished on top of the leaderboard with 39 points.

A-grade winner – Steve Parish with 39 points, A-grade runner-up – Shane Hartog-Smith with 37 points, B-grade Winner Nick Scott with 38 points, B-grade runner-up – Peter Dewsbury with 36 points, C-grade winner – Rob Maunder with 40 points, C-grade runner-up – Daniel Spence with 38 points.
Wednesday ladies’ started yesterday, Wednesday, June 10, as did the Wednesday vets nine-hole comp.
Thursday social 18-hole golf started today.
For all competition golf and social golf you MUST call the club on 6792 2344 and book a tee off time.
There will be no shotgun starts for comp golf at the moment.
All Saturday golf competitions will be stableford and again you must book a tee off time.
Temporary golf competition rules are as follows:
Players to mark their own scorecard (it is not necessary for a marker to do it; verbal confirmation should take place with their playing partner at the end of each hole); only the player to sign their scorecard (no marker signature required); scorecards are to be placed in the box supplied; preferred lies are tee to green; no NTPs.
All other COVID-19 rules still apply.
