The Narrabri Junior Rugby Club’s under-14s and under-16s boys’ and girls’ teams all played round three North West Regional Youth Rugby Friday night competition matches on Friday night after their round two games were washed out in Gunnedah.
The two girls’ teams travelled to Moree for their round three games and the boys’ teams played their matches at Quirindi.
The under-14s boys and the under-16s girls returned home winners.
In Quirindi, the under-14s junior Blue Boars scored their first win of the season and it was a massive one by a margin of 63 points.
The Narrabri boys took on Farrer Gold and outscored the school-based side 75-12.
Narrabri ran in 11 tries, 10 of which Jonty Fowler converted to add 20 extra points off the boot.

The under-16s boys were up next and in a much closer game Narrabri went down 17-12 against Scone.
Narrabri travelled to that match with 20 players but Scone arrived with just 12, so the Blue Boars only fielded 12 players on the field at a time under the competition rules.
Narrabri’s tries were scored by Sid Harvey and Ashton Smith, and Bernard O’Connor kicked a conversion.
In Moree, the Blue Boars’ under-14s girls’ side played three games against Inverell.
The Narrabri girls went down in all three games but scored points in all three.
Game one was 20-12, with Meika Foley and Holly Ford crossing for tries and Holly kicking a conversion.
Game two was 31-14, with Holly crossing for another try and kicking two conversions and teammate Amalie Gosper claiming the other try.
Game three was 19-10, with Lucy Coffey going over for one of the team’s two tries, and the being claimed by Krista Zarka.
In the under-16s fixtures Inverell won the first game against Narrabri 36-10.
Miranda Hamilton and Amelie Johnson scored a try each for Narrabri.
In the second game the Blue Boars girls bounced back to score a memorable win against Inverell.
Narrabri’s Claudia Penberthy, Martha Harvey and Amelie Johnson went over for a try each in a 15-12 win.
Blue Boars coach Denis Harvey said it was a huge effort for his girls to win the second game against an Inverell side which is a very-well-drilled team.
This Friday in round four the three of the four Narrabri sides will line up in Coonabarabran.
The under-14s girls will play four games against Coonabarabran as both teams have an abundance of players signed up.
The under-16s girls will play two matches, one against Gunnedah and the other against the hosts.
The under-14s boys will go in search of a second straight win when they take on hosts Coonabarabran.
The under-16s boys will play for their first win of the season when they meet Moree, a side which they drew against in round one, in Moree.
