Dylan Smith and his Old Boys Cricket Club teammates are the 2020 Tamworth District Cricket Association first grade one day 40-over champions following Friday night’s grand final win against City United.
Old Boys batted first in that match and made 169 runs in 39.3 overs before knocking over City United for 64 runs in 16.1 overs.
Wee Waa youngster Smith scored four runs for Old Boys, then took 2-11 from four overs and also took a catch and threw a runout.
His catch, from the bowling of Aaron Hazlewood, sealed the victory.
Old Boys qualified for the grand final after winning three of its five regular season matches.
It also had one washed out draw and lost just once, to the undefeated City United which placed first on the ladder.
Old Boys put the round one loss against City United well behind itself before coming out to dominate the grand final.
