Year 12 students of Narrabri High School culminated their entire schooling endeavours and an unforgettable HSC year with a formal held at the school hall on Friday.
The students dressed fashionably for the ceremony and said their farewells as they embark on the next chapter in their lives.
The HSC year can have its own challenges as students prepare for the future.
Add in the confusion and disruption of a pandemic, this year’s Year 12 had an obstacle like no other.
However, the class of 2020 made it through and celebrated in style with parents, teachers and classmates albeit with restricted numbers.
Students were awarded portfolios to honour their achievements.
“2020 certainly threw some curve balls and they dealt with it,” Year 12 advisor Mr Chase Magner said.
“They did miss out on the usual things Year 12 get to do such as muck-up day and sport carnivals.
“The formal looked like it wasn’t going to happen, so it was great to have it go ahead and the wider community is certainly proud of them too.
“It will hold them in good stead the way they tackled this year.
“It was a fitting end to the year to finish their schooling where it had all started”.
