Paul Crutcher and Bob Ireland are the Narrabri Sporties’ Senior Pairs winners for 2020 after defeating Len Ryan and Steve Daskey on Sunday.
Ryan and Daskey were leading 12-8 on the 13th end but only managed to score one point across the remaining eight ends. The final score was 22-13 to Crutcher and Ireland.
In Saturday’s Triples semi-final, Ian Macmillan, Tony Redman and Dave Dewar defeated Steve Daskey, Len Ryan and Paul Crutcher.
Dewar’s team got off to a good start and led 11-0 after six ends. Crutcher’s team then won the next seven ends to move within one point. It was close for the rest of the match, and the final score was 22-20 to Macmillan, Redman and Dewar.
There will be three club finals matches contested at Narrabri Sporties this weekend.
The schedule for the weekend is as follows:
Saturday, December 12:
Mixed Pairs final – Cindy Neil and Terry Wilson v Lorraine Scott and Kevin Baguley.
Men’s Triples final – Ian Macmillan, Tony Redman and Dave Dewar v Justin Green, Trinity Kelly and Cameron Yates.
Sunday, December 13:
President Pairs final – Terry Wilson and Kevin Baguley v David Briggs and Bob Ireland.
Meanwhile, Thursday morning bowls is now starting at 8am for anyone that would like a social game of bowls.
The Narrabri Sporties’ flying bowlers would like to invite new members to join their group. The group of men currently have 20 members and they travel to different parts of Australia sightseeing and playing social bowls. The next trip will be to Tweed Heads in the new year. Membership is $10 per year and the next meeting will be held at Narrabri Sporties on Friday, December 18.
