Like many sports, polocrosse felt the heavy impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 with most events scheduled for the year in NSW forced into cancellation.
This year, the sport is expected to bounce back with a year full of carnivals.
Polocrosse Association of NSW recently released an updated 2021 fixture list, which included dates for the North West Plains Polocrosse clubs’ carnivals.
Narrabri’s Polocrosse Club’s annual Junior Challenge Carnival has been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 3 and 4.
Cubbaroo Polocrosse Club’s annual carnival is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, July 17 and 18, then Gallopping Gully Polocrosse Club’s annual carnival has been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 7 and 8.
The weekend of Saturday and Sunday, March 6 and 7, has been locked in for the Northern-New England Zone Polocrosse Top Gun Coaching Clinic which will be held at Inverell.
Club Championships have been scheduled for Saturday, July 31, and Sunday, August 1, while Zone Championships are set to run on Saturday and Sunday, August 28 and 29.
Meanwhile, PANSW issued a statement last week to announce that “juniors and sub-juniors are all go in 2021”.
The Albury Junior Classic will be held from Wednesday, April 7, to Sunday, April 11, and the Sydney Show Sub Junior Polocrosse Exhibition will also run in 2021, on Sunday and Monday, April 4 and 5.
Schools NW Equestrian Expo has also committed to running Polocrosse in June.
