The 2021 Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club season got under way on Saturday with the first round of the ladies’ Club Fours competition.
Glennis Godden, Cecile, Di Chessells and Janet Coleman defeated Denise Wall, Ronnie Dewar, Debbie Gleeson and Lorraine Scott 21-14.
Scott’s team was leading 7-1 by the fifth end then Coleman’s team scored 15 points to nil across the next eight ends to take the lead 16-7.
Scott’s team reduced the deficit with a five on the 14th end but Coleman’s team scored five points to two across the last six ends to take the game 21-14 after 20 ends.
In the other Club Fours match, Helen Woodward, Dawn Armstrong, Cindy Neil and Eva Sadler defeated Jan Etheridge, Pat Sheils, Lyn Tuckey and Beryl Regan.
Sadler’s team got off to a good start and led 8-0 after four ends. They went on to win the game 27-9 after 19 ends.
Social bowls was played on Thursday, March 11.
Denise Wall, Jan Etheridge and Lyn Wedesweiler defeated Caroline Tomlinson, Gloria Campey and Di Chessells 26-10.
Rhonda Fitzgerald, Cecile and Mary Wheeler defeated Ronnie Dewar, Trish Allison, and Beryl Regan 21-13.
Glennis Godden, Marie Redman and Lyn Tuckey defeated Dawn Armstrong, Helen Woodward and Rhonda Welchman 17-10.

Club Fours match to be played on Saturday is as follows:
Kay Parker, Marie Redman, Lyn Wedesweiler and Rhonda Welchman v Helen Woodward, Dawn Armstrong, Cindy Neil and Eva Sadler.
Social bowls will also be played on Thursday.
