NSW Variety Bash fundraisers Tracey Rex and Stuart Black are about to embark once again on a road trip fundraiser for the Variety Club.

Tracey and Stuart are fundraisers of almost legendary status in the Bash annals.

“This will be my 18th annual Variety Bash,” said Tracey.

This represents more than $100,000 raised for the children’s charity over those years.

Fundraising is undertaken well in advance of the Bash and is ongoing.

Last week Tracey held a street stall on the Woolworths supermarket forecourt, featuring goodies baked by Claire Black which were again a huge drawcard.

The stall raised $2240.

Tracey and Stuart will set off on Saturday for Newcastle where the Bash will start on Sunday.

This year’s Variety Bash will take drivers from Newcastle to Newcastle on an eight day round-trip journey over highways and backroads out to Gwabegar and across the North West.

The rallies attract regular participants who enjoy the adventure which takes them to different parts of the country, and different towns, each year.

The rallyists stop at schools along the route and distribute funds to help support students in the bush.

The 2019 Variety Bash saw 103 cars and 320 drivers cover 2200 km of the countryside visiting nine local schools.

Bash drivers donated $50,000 worth of grants to regional schools with the money going to buy items and materials ranging from coding robots to playground equipment and literacy materials.
