Narrabri Netball Association hosted the fourth round of its 2021 winter season at the Bev Burrows Courts on Saturday when A-grade high-fliers Tourist Tornados continued their impressive start to the campaign.
In one of two top-grade matches played on the day, the Tornados outscored Goal Diggers 62-25 to register their fourth consecutive victory. The side is currently ranked second but is tied on eight competition points with ladder leaders Wee Waa Flames.
The Flames enjoyed a day off on Saturday after winning via forfeit against Pharmacy Flamingos.
Another forfeit saw the previously undefeated P and P record its first loss of the season after it could not field a team to take on Fever.
Fever is now third after leapfrogging the now-fourth-placed P and P following three wins and a loss to start the season.
In the other A-grade match played on Saturday, fifth-placed Blue Diamonds scored their second win of the season when they downed Toros 30-20.
Toros are now seventh, while fellow winless sides Pharmacy Flamingos and Goal Diggers are sixth and last respectively.
Two of the three scheduled round four B-grade games were contested on Saturday which saw top-ranked, undefeated side Golfie Grubs down Big Blues 41-26 and Thunderbirds defeat The Chickies 31-18.
Vicious Delicious forfeited its match against Dont Stop Ball-ieving and Goss Gals had the round four bye.
Two close contests unfolded earlier in the day in the under-11/13 competition when Giants edged out C and W Firebirds 10-9 and Swifts beat Lightning 4-0. Namoi Cotton Thunderbirds had the bye in that competition.
Under-9/10 division standouts Valley Vixens scored their fourth consecutive win when they outscored Emeralds 36-0, while Sapphires downed Diamonds 10-5 in a closer contest in the division.
In the Net Set age group, teams Blue and Pink started the day in style with 6-4 and 5-1 wins against Green and Red respectively.
