Development plans have been lodged for the construction of accommodation units at a Belar Street site in Bellata.

The site, at 25 Belar Street, is adjacent to land which has had development approval for a hotel on the Newell Highway at the previous location of the former Nandewar Inn which was destroyed in an extensive fire in 2006.

In its development report, Scone-based Casson Planning and Development Services said the development will result in this land being consolidated with the Newell Highway site.

A development application for hotel and accommodation units was approved in July 2018 and this application included a consolidation of the titles.

The latest application seeks to relocate the proposed accommodation units onto a separate title on Belar Street.

“The accommodation units will provide basic single person and disabled accommodation with ensuites,” the development application states.

“The accommodation is seen to be ancillary to the hotel use of the land and also for tourists, tradespeople, contractors and the like required and not currently available in Bellata.”

Twenty-two on-site parking spaces, including two disabled, are included as part of the development plan. There would be no direct access to or from the Newell Highway.
