In tight-knit communities like Narrabri, local support really does mean the world.
That’s why the team at 2MaxFM are expressing their sincere thanks to the numerous businesses that have offered financial support for the radio station’s latest upgrades.
A new hot water system, valued at over $1000, is to be installed in the building thanks to Santos.
Whitehaven Coal also made a donation to the station, with $2000 provided to support 2MaxFM’s cashflow.
The Embroiders Guild NSW also made a cash donation, offering $200 as a thank you for use of the station’s meeting room.
A new logger/streaming computer, valued at $2860, has been made available to 2MaxFM by Trans4M Rail.
The station will also benefit from new CD players and speakers, through the approval of a Narrabri Shire Council Community Grant of $1500.
Being a team of mostly unpaid volunteers, 2MaxFM is extremely grateful to be granted the financial support needed to continue offering free news and music over its frequency.
Station manager Cassie Boyd has welcomed the financial assistance, especially given the challenges that have resulted from the ongoing pandemic and recent lockdown.
“We’d really just like to say a massive thank you to everyone for these donations,” she said.
“These upgrades will be accompanied by additional renovations to the station, which we’re also really excited about.”
“Once the entire makeover is complete, we’d like to host a little unveiling here at the station to show all of our supporters the difference they’ve helped make.”
More to come in future editions of The Courier.
