RSL and Tourist Sports Bar were the two winners in the fifth round of the Narrabri District Cricket Association’s 2021-22 second grade 40-over season on Saturday.
RSL defeated Tatts at Hogan Oval and Tourist Sports Bar downed clubmates Tourist Hotel at Cooma Oval.
Tatts batted first at Hogan Oval and scored 120 in 28.4 overs. RSL was then led by Nick Baird who scored a game-best unbeaten 81 as his side chased down the required total in 28 overs to score a six-wicket win.
At Cooma Oval, a seven-man Tourist Hotel side batted first and reached 22 runs before losing its final wicket from the first ball of the fifth over.
It then took Tourist Sports Bar six overs to secure an eight-wicket win.
Those results saw Tourist Sports Bar (22 points) move within one win of ladder leaders Tatts (23 points). Those two teams have three wins and two losses each this season. However, Tourist Sports Bar earned no points in round one when it forfeited its season opener. Teams receive one point when they take the field and lose, which is the reason Tatts is a point clear at the top.
Defending champions RSL (20 points) is now less than a win behind Tatts, while Tourist Hotel (14 points) is one win behind RSL in fourth place.
Tourist Sports Bar will take on RSL at Hogan Oval in round six on Saturday, while Tatts and Tourist Hotel
