The 2021 Club Pairs champions from Narrabri Bowling Club and Wee Waa Bowling Club will travel to South Tamworth this weekend, where they will both take part in the Zone 3 Bowls Champion of Champions event.
The Wee Waa team is made up of Todd Cowan and Justin Knight, and Narrabri’s includes Trinity Kelly and Kevin Baguley.
The event would have usually run towards the end of last year but was postponed until early this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic delaying most club’s seasons.
Fourteen teams nominated for the tournament, meaning four rounds of knockout bowls will be contested to determine the 2021 champion.
The first round will be contested on Saturday morning at 9am, which will be followed by the quarter-final matches at 1.30pm that same day.
The semi-finals will be played on Sunday morning from 9am, then the final will be contested that afternoon.
The Narrabri Bowling Club duo was one of two teams that drew a first round bye. That means their first game will be a quarter-final match against either Inverell Sporties or Lightning Ridge.
The Wee Waa team has drawn the 2021 champions from Werris Creek in the opening round.
The Narrabri and Wee Waa teams are on the same side of the draw, so if both win their way through to the semi-final stage they will meet on Sunday morning for a chance to play in the final later that day.
