One of the most significant events on the Narrabri social calendar, the Narrabri Jockey Club’s annual race meeting, made a triumphant return at the weekend.

After a COVID-affected Narrabri Cup hiatus during the last few years, the Narrabri Jockey Club was buoyed by community and regional support for a return to racing in Narrabri.

Six races were held, a program which was headlined by the Santos Narrabri Cup. The winner of the 1200-metre feature race in 2022 was Manabar.

Off the track, one of the main attractions was the highly-anticipated annual Fashions in the Field. This year’s winner was Jenny Dowey-Zell.

The men’s winner was Stephan van Heerden, while the couple’s prize was awarded to Josh and Sarah Gleeson.

Piper Williams, Frankie Gallen and Vengeance Harris claimed the various junior competitions.
