Narrabri Netball Association hosted the opening round of its 2022 winter ladies’ season on Saturday at the Bev Burrows Courts.
Twelve of the 13 scheduled games went ahead during an entertaining day of netball.
The A-grade matches were won by Tourist Tornadoes, Fever and Not Fast But Furious. The Tornadoes edged out Golfie Grubs 41-38, Fever outscored Vicious and Delicious 40-16 and Not Fast But Furious downed Pharmacy Flamingos 39-26.
Wee Waa Flames had the round one bye.
In B-grade, Win Or Booze, All Nets, Pretty Poison, and The Goats were the four opening-round winners. Win Or Booze beat Hot Shots 49-16, All Nets downed Blue Rebels 49-18, Pretty Poison defeated Win Diesel 39-12, and Wilga Warriors forfeited their opening clash against The Goats.
The under-11-13 competition games were won by Magpies, Namoi Cotton Thunderbirds and Lightning. Magpies downed Giants 9-2, Namoi Cotton Thunderbirds outscored the C and W Firebirds 9-1, and Lightning outscored Swifts 17-7.
In the under-9/10 competition, the Valley Vixens kick-started their 2022 season with two wins. They downed The Roses 5-2 and The Diamonds 2-0, and in between those two matches, The Roses defeated The Diamonds 2-0.
NNA’s 2022 campaign will continue with round two matches on Saturday.
In A-grade, Wee Waa Flames take on Tourist Tornadoes, Fever challenges Pharmacy Flamingos, and the Golfie Grubs will meet Not Fast But Furious.
Vicious and Delicious will sit out with the round two bye
In B-grade, Win Or Booze meets Pretty Poison, Win Diesel goes head-to-head with The Goats, All Nets take on Wilga Warriors, and Blue Rebels challenge Hot Shots.
In the under-11-13 competition, the Namoi Cotton Thunderbirds will play against Giants, Magpies meet Swifts, and the C and W Firebirds will go up against Lightning.
